PSYCHEWORK TO RELEASE A NEW SINGLE, TOUR DATES FOR SPRING OF 2018
Finnish melodic metal troupe Psychework unleashes Fury and the Beast, a brand new track from their upcoming album, on 9th of March. After previous singles Siege and Ghost Patrol released at the end of 2017, it brings “something new and something borrowed” to the band’s sound, as the song also features Wild Till Hiltunenfrom the viral bluegrass cover sensation Steve ’N’ Seagulls on accordion.
“Musically a pretty wild track from the album, telling a true story about sadistic lovers in the middle of Eastern rush”, singerAntony Parviainensheds light on the song.
Fury and the Beast is the third single to pave the way for Psychework’s second album, set for release on 20.4.2018 through Ranka Kustannus. The band will also tour Finland in April and May, with progressive power metal group Thaurorod and heavy metal outfit Kamara accompanying them on selected dates.

Winter is coming, and so is new Psychework music! We're happy to announce that our new song SIEGE is officially out today. It is a digital only release. SUMMER OF 2017: FESTIVALS AND STUDIO TIME
Psychework will hit the studio this summer to record new material. First we will record three new songs and later on the rest of the songs to be included in Psychework's second full length album. Last week we recorded drums, bass and guitar for the first three songs at Electric Fox Studios, Jyväskylä.
Next in line are the keyboards, orchestration and vocals. If everything goes as planned, you will hear new Psychework material this autumn.

KESÄ 2017: FESTAREITA JA STUDIOAIKAA
Psychework nauhoittaa tänä kesänä uutta materiaalia seuraavaa albumia varten. Pistämme narulle ensin kolme kappaletta, jotka tulevat olemaan osa Psycheworkin täysipitkää kakkoslevyä. Viime viikolla kävimme Electric Fox Studios:lla Jyväskylässä soittamassa talteen kolmen ensimmäisen biisin rummut, bassot ja kitarat.
Seuraavana vuorossa ovat koskettimet, orkestraatiot ja vokaalit. Jos kaikki menee suunnitelmien mukaan, pääsette kuulemaan uutta Psycheworkia tänä syksynä.

SAY HELLO TO THE NEW PSYCHEWORK DRUMMER KONSTA VEHKALA
Our drummer Juuso Raatikainen has to leave Psychework. The reason for this is lack of time and other endeavours. The decision was made together and there are no hard feelings whatsoever. We wish all the best for Juuso in his future endeavours!
Juuso: "Due to lack of time and other endevours I have to announce my departure from the band Psychework. This wasn't an easy desicion but under current circumstances its the right one. The band must progress and I don't want to slow it down. I'm proud of all the gigs and the amazing record we made. Thanks guys! Wish you all the best!"
From now on Konsta Vehkala (in the photo) is the man behind drum kit in Psychework. You might have seen him already in couple of Psychework gigs.
Konsta: ”It's awesome to be part of this group! I got a good feeling after the gigs we played last fall, so now it's cool to proceed with new songs and upcoming gigs. I'm looking forward to what the future will be like. See you on gigs!”
You can see Konsta and all the others next time in action at Pakkahuone, Tampere, on Saturday 28th January. Be sure to come there early enough, the first beats will kick in already at 6:45 pm!

UUSI PSYCHEWORK-RUMPALI KONSTA VEHKALA
Rumpalimme Juuso Raatikainen joutuu jättämään Psycheworkin. Syynä tähän on Juuson muut kiireet. Asiasta on sovittu hyvässä hengessä, ja toivotamme Juusolle onnea ja menestystä uusiin haasteisiin!
Juuso: "Valitettavasti joudun eroamaan yhtyeestä muiden kiireiden vuoksi. Päätös ei ollut helppo, mutta se tukee Psycheworkin etenemistä. Näissä asioissa oma tahto ja ego on sysättävä sivuun. Olen ylpeä joka keikasta ja helvetin hienosta levystä, jonka saimme tällä kivenkovalla porukalla aikaiseksi. Kiitos jätkät! Eteenpäin!"

THE LONG-AWAITED PSYCHEWORK DEBUT ALBUM ”THE DRAGON’S YEAR” WILL BE RELEASED: Finland Sep 2nd, UK Sep 16th, Germany Sep 30th 2016.
Psychework, a band originating from Suolahti, is ready to publish its first album. The story of Psychework goes back in 2012, and Antony Parviainen and J-V Hintikka, known from the band Machine Men, are continuing their journey together in Psychework's debut album called ”The Dragon's Year”. The album is going to be released through Ranka Kustannus on these dates: September 2nd in Finland, September 16th in UK and September 30th in Germany. Main thematic element of the album is Antony Parviainen's battle against leukemia. Parviainen, who is without a doubt one of the best metal vocalists in Finland, explains the beginning of Psychework:
”It's been three years since I wrote down the first lines of Psychework lyrics. At first I was writing a normal, so called ”hospital diary”, but as it turned out I wasn't able to write anything reasonable. There were blank pages full of nothing, day after day. But then I started to write about my thoughts and feelings in a more lyrical form. I wrote down all the thoughts that came to my mind. This began to be very therapeutic for me, and it was a big part of my spark of hope.”
”In summer 2013 we began creating music for the texts with J-V. I told him the story behind the text, explained the feeling and showed him some ideas for a melody. J-V's job was to create the music and bring these song drafts alive. For a long time ”Psychework” was only a working title, meaning e.g. therapy. This child had many meanings. And we just couldn't get rid off this name, and that's only a good thing because it reflects the birth of the band perfectly. But the musical style of Psychework was formed later during 2014-2015.”
Even though the duration of our debut album ”The Dragon's Year” is less than the average, it is in no way an easy album. We've tried to create different kind of moods and a dramatic arc throughout the songs and the whole album. Even though the songs have mainly positive messages, we've build dark frames around them. ”The Dragon's Year” is indeed our brainchild, through and through”, Antony explains.

PSYCHEWORKIN ODOTETTU ENSILEVY ”THE DRAGON’S YEAR” ILMESTYY 2.9.16
Loppuvuodesta 2012 alkaen kaikessa rauhassa kasvanut suolahtelaislähtöinen Psychework on nyt valmis julkaisemaan ensimmäisen albuminsa. Mm. Machine Menistä tutuksi tulleiden Antony Parviaisen ja J-V Hintikan ystävyys ja yhteistyö jatkuu haastavana ja erityisen voimakkaana syyskuun 2. päivä Ranka Kustannuksen kautta julkaistavalla ”The Dragon’s Year” -levyllä, jonka keskeisenä teemana on Suomen kovimpiin metallivokalisteihin kuuluvan Antony Parviaisen sairastuminen leukemiaan ja vakavan sairauden selättäminen.
”Aikaa on kulunut yli kolme vuotta siitä, kun Psycheworkin ensimmäiset lauseenrippeet paperille rustasin. Aluksi pidin normaalia ns. ”sairaalapäiväkirjaa”, mikä osoittautui huonoksi vaihtoehdoksi, koska en saanut kirjoitettua mitään järkevää. Sivut ammottivat tyhjyyttään päivä toisensa jälkeen. Sitten aloin kirjoittamaan lauseenparsia tunteista, ajatuksista, haaveista yms. lyyrisempään muotoon. Kirjoittelin kaikenlaista mitä sylki suuhun toi ja tämä osoittautuikin hyvin terapeuttiseksi sekä oli iso osa toivonkipinää.
Kesällä 2013 aloimme J-V:n kanssa luomaan musiikkia tekstien ympärille. Kerroin tekstin tarinan ja fiiliksen mitä haetaan ja näytin suuntaa antavan melodian. J-V:n tehtävä oli luoda musiikki sekä herättää biisiraakileet eloon. Psychework oli pitkän aikaa työnimi tarkoittaen mm. terapiaa. Lapsella oli monta tarkoitusta. Tästä nimestä ei kuitenkaan osattu luopua ja hyvä niin, sillä se kuvastaa täydellisesti bändin syntytarinaa. Psycheworkin musiikillinen tyylisuunta muodostui kuitenkin vasta joskus vuosien 2014-2015 aikana.
Vaikka esikoislevymme ”The Dragon’s Year” on nykypäivän levyihin verrattuna kestoltaan hieman lyhyempi, se ei missään nimessä ole helppo levy. Biiseihin ja koko levylle on pyritty luomaan erilaisia tunnetiloja ja rakentamaan selkeä draamankaari. Vaikka kappaleissa onkin pääosin positiivinen sanoma, olemme kuitenkin luoneet niille synkät raamit. ”The Dragon’s Year” on kirjaimellisesti todellinen hengentuotteemme”, laulaja Antony kertoo levystä.

Here it is! A new song "HAND ON HEART"
Antony Parviainen:
"Hand on Heart, an opening track from our upcoming debut album, was one of the first songs we ever made with this band. From the first home demo to the final album version this song has changed the least from all. Hand on Heart represents more straightforward and easily approachable material from us. The song tells a story about fear and being strong for someone else during personal mental and physical struggle."
We have been quiet here online but there hasn't been anything interesting to share. Less is more sometimes! During this time we have been very active with rehearsing and writing new music. The album is 100% ready but it takes time to organize a proper release so we decided it would be wiser to release the album at the end of summer. Not at the beginning as originally planned. THE RELEASE WILL BE IN AUGUST 2016. It is only a few months away! We are doing a couple of special gigs on Finnish summer festivals to get things started and will do more touring as soon as the album comes out.
One more thing: Jere Kortelainen is no longer a member of Psychework. We have a new killer guitar player: Juha Takanen.

Every story has a beginning. This is the beginning of a story called PSYCHEWORK, a metal band from Jyväskylä, Finland. Lot of things has been done behind the curtains so far and now it is time to open up them a bit and let everyone get a sneak peek of what is going on.
Antony Parviainen:
”Finally, and I mean really finally, we have our line-up ready and songs ready. It's been a bumpy ride building up Psychework, from the first line of lyrics until this point. But I've learned a lot on the way. It all started at the end of 2012 as I was forced to face the dark and ruthless side of life. When your life is suddenly turned upside down and the most important thing, your health, is taken away, you begin to have deep thoughts about life. My future was unclear at that moment. And I can honestly say that it was my worst nightmare. But this period in my life gave me a lot as well, because I found the long lost spark. The spark into writing music. Psychework is a band but at the same time it's a product of my soul, to which I've shed my tears and, literally, my blood, too.”
The band has taken its time to write the songs and to search for the musical style that represent perfectly the stories that has been written. This isn't the easiest road go walk through, but it's been well worth it! "We have already material for a full length album. Actually more than that, and even more is on the way!" says J-V Hintikka. "We can barely keep it in our pants because we want to share our music with all of you. As soon as the plans and schedules are ready, we are more than happy to release some music online!"
First show ever for Psychework will be at Lutakko, Jyväskylä in January 15th 2016. That will be something very special!
Jokaisella tarinalla on alkunsa. Tämä on jyväskyläläisen metallibändin, PSYCHEWORK:in, alku. Kulissien takana on jo tapahtunut paljon, joten nyt on korkea aika raottaa verhoja ja päästää kaikki katsomaan mistä on kyse.
Antony Parviainen:
"Lopultakin, tarkoitan todella, lopultakin olemme saaneet bändin kasaan ja materiaalin valmiiksi. Ensinnäkin, lähtökohdat Psycheworkin rakentamiseen ovat olleet aika haastavat. Ihan sieltä ensimmäisistä lauseenparsista aina tähän pisteeseen. Se tie on myös ollut hyvin opettavainen. Kaikki lähti liikkeelle vuoden 2012 lopulla, kun jouduin kokemaan elämässä sen synkän ja armottoman puolen. Yhtäkkiä kun elämä käännetään ylösalaisin ja sinulta viedään se kaikkein tärkein, terveys, siinä kummasti on aikaa miettiä syntyjä syviä.” ”Elämäni oli silloin siinä hetkessä, jossa tulevaisuus oli hyvin epäselvä. Ja voin rehellisesti sanoa, se oli minun pahin painajainen. Mutta, tästä ajanjaksosta oli myös paljon hyötyäkin, sillä löysin sen kauan kadoksissa olleen kipinän. Kipinän musiikin kirjoittamiseen. Psychework on bändi, mutta myös minun henkilökohtainen sielun tuotteeni, johon olen voinut vuodattaa kyyneleeni ja kirjaimellisesti myös vereni.”
Musiikin kirjoittaminen on ottanut oman aikansa, ja nyt Psychework on löytänyt oman musiikillisen tyylinsä ja kappaleet lopullisen muotonsa, mitä tarinat kappaleiden takana vaativat. Tämä ei ole ollut ehkä helpoin tie, mutta todellakin sen arvoinen! "Meillä on jo nyt materiaalia täyspitkää levyä varten. Itseasiassa enemmänkin", sanoo J-V Hintikka. "Vaikeahan tätä on pantata, koska tahtoisimme jo jakaa musiikkia kaikkien teidän kanssa. Kunhan suunnitelmat ja aikataulut on valmiita, olemme enemmän kuin iloisia että päästään julkaisemaan musiikkia!"
Psycheworkin ensimmäinen keikka tulee olemaan Lutakossa, Jyväskylässä 15.01.2016. Siitä tulee erikoisilta!
